Receptions & Interiors
BAE Systems' interiors provide the opportunity to create engaging spaces through the use of materials and techniques that support our company vision and values, enhancing visitors' experience and their perception of the brand. Here you will find guidance on how to include the BAE Systems Logo and recommendations on the use of colours, fabrics and signage.
Using the BAE Systems Logo
The BAE Systems Logo should be used in all reception areas. The steel version shown in the Brand Standards section should be used where possible and a full specification is included to allow it to be manufactured with your local supplier. If you need to specify an alternative material because of budget or site requirements, contact your Brand Champion for guidance.
Logo and Tagline, Sub-brands and other logos
Do not use the Logo and Tagline in any interiors or receptions, or on any internal signage. Only the BAE Systems Logo is allowed on internal and external signage. Do not use any other logo.
The look and feel
BAE Systems receptions and interiors should feel modern and high value, in line with our vision and values. Natural colours and materials such as glass, limestone and stainless steel should be used. Red should be used minimally and never as a wall colour. Walls should be white, unless you are creating a feature wall where materials such as glass can be used. The specifications given for materials and finishes are recommendations only and should be used as a guide to your own scheme.
Prioritising work
Follow the Brand Standards where possible, but also manage wisely to get maximum value. If budget or timescales are an issue, focus on elements that clearly contravene the Brand Standards. In short, apply some common sense to get the maximum value and alignment with the BAE Systems brand. For more information see the full Brand Standards section.
Making the space more individual
There is clear guidance on the main building fabric and furnishings and this should be followed where possible. If you want to create a feature or something more distinctive or individual in a reception, try using the specified materials in a more unsual way, or consider exhibition panels or displays to create a focus. Do not introduce other materials, techniques or colours into the main building fabric - these should remain consistently within the Brand Standards. For more information see the full Brand Standards section.
Internal signage
The production of internal signage is not covered in detail here. For more information, including areas such as capitalisation, type and typography, directional arrows and icons, go to the Signage section of the Brand Standards.
For more information
The above information is only a summary of the Brand Standards in this area. Please download the relevant Brand Standards section from the Downloads box on this page. The commission and development of any refurbishment will require sign-off prior to implementation by your Brand Champion - you will need to allow enough time for this to take place. Any further questions concerning receptions or interiors, should be directed to your Brand Champion or Corporate Communications. Find their details in Managing our brand on the top navigation.
